Monthly Highlights | June

Hi, This month has flown by, I'm not complaining because that means my holiday starts tomorrow. It's been crazy busy at work so then sitting on my computer at home to blog just seemed like torture, (I love blogging but that's too much screen time) problem of blogging when working full time. June has left me feeling worn out and I can't wait to have some time to relax and rethink things.

Mini goals for June 5/10

  • Vote in the EU Referendum
  • Go for a walk/Get outdoors
  • Get my blog organisation together
  • Buy birthday presents
  • Eat healthy
  • Get everything sorted for my camping trip
  • Do an outfit post
  • Have a date night
  • Do something creative
  • Set my Summer goals

I feel like I failed a little this month, time just went by too fast and I wasn’t even the tiniest bit organised. I think the added pressure of creating extra content to cover my travel plans stopped me from blogging at all so I’m sorry about the lack of posts. I’m thinking that the digital detox which is inevitable with camping will clear my mind and hopefully give me loads of inspiration for future posts. I wanted to be super healthy this month and I think I did the opposite, oops. I'm yet to even consider doing an outfit post and adding it to my goals really isn't motivating me. I really want to do a DIY project but I haven't had the time, maybe soon.

So the EU Referendum happened, I voted to stay. I was honestly worried about the outcome, when I woke in the morning to find that the UK had voted to leave my worried where confirmed. I guess the question now is what happens next. I hope our nation can unite and make the changes as smoothly as possible, everything seems so messed up at the moment.

I did manage to get my act together and order some birthday presents so that's one less thing to worry about. We tested fitting the camping gear in the car and to my shock it all fit (it's a different car from last years trip and the boot is tiny). I set my summer goals and I'm already crossing things off. I wish this post was more positive.

Monthly Highlights | November

Hi, How is the year almost over? I don't think there is anything quite like blogging for making you notice the passing of time, it feels like I was only just writing up my goals for this month. At least the end of November marks the count down to Christmas, I can't wait to put the Christmas tree up with music playing way too loud and a baileys in my hand. I wanted to do a shout out to Imii from Nettle&Blackberry because I won her giveaway way back at the beginning of the month which made me super happy. You should maybe go check out her blog, her photography skills are amazing.

INSTAGRAM MOMENTARILY DREAMING NOVEMBER 2015 GROUP

Mini Goals For November 7/10
  • Start Christmas Shopping
  • Work towards my book goal
  • Use Social Media more effectively
  • Take more photos
  • Go to the Cinemas
  • See some fireworks
  • Do some knitting
  • Buy some warmer clothes
  • Try a new flavor of tea
  • Do something out of my comfort zone

So this month has whizzed past and I haven't had the time to really think about completing my goals, but I've not done too badly. I have taken a few more photos via Instagram which is a big step as I never do that. I've managed to add an extra four books to my reading total for the year, which has made my goal seem a lot more achievable. I watched the fireworks on bonfire night as best as I could but the weather this year was so poor, still saw loads.

I went to the cinemas three times, this being down to the weather and hiding from the rain. I saw Crimson Peaks which I loved, The Woman in the Van which was ok and what I expected it to be and then lastly on Friday I went to see the new Hunger Games film, which I enjoyed but I could tell that they had messed around a lot with the events of the book.

I only just started buying Christmas gifts but I've been looking a while and was totally unable to decide, I just placed some massive online orders so hopefully I'm almost done. I tried a black tea Christmas blend for my new tea which is really nice with loads of christmassy spices. This was enjoyed while trying to remember how to knit, I managed to knit two little hats for the Innocent big knit and I just wish I'd had more time, #Sassybooks fault. I'm going to continue to knit them hopefully improving my knitting skills so I can send even more next year.

Monthly Highlights | September

Hi, It's officially Autumn and I can definitely tell the difference in the air now that the sun isn't shining quite as bright. The trees look so pretty and the local horse chestnut tree is already dropping it's spiky conkers. As I write this there is a lovely blue sky and a slight chill in the air. It's been a rather uneventful month but a good one.

Mini goals for September 4/10
  1. Go to the seaside
  2. Use prompts to take photos
  3. Go on a boat trip
  4. Play in the slot machines
  5. Read at least 2 books
  6. Go see my sisters kittens
  7. Buy some of the new Lush goodies
  8. Do a restaurant review
  9. Buy a smaller camera
  10. Enjoy the changing season
My holiday to Filey seems so long ago now, that was where most of my goals got completed and I've failed a little since. As quite a lot of my goals required spending money it's not so much of a problem as my bank balance will be happy.

I've arranged a shopping trip with the sister where I can stock up on all the lovely Lush goodies (probably picking up something from the Halloween range). I still haven't been to see her kittens and they will probably be more like grown up cats by the times I do see them with her living so far away.

I think I've found a camera I want to buy I just need to be bothered to go and buy it, and that leads onto my lack of a restaurant review, that and the fact I haven't actually eaten out this month. So yeah a good but uneventful month, I'm now looking forward to Halloween and Bonfire night as they will be here before we know it.

Recap/Highlights

Hope your month has been filled with lovely things!

Monthly Highlights | August

Hi, I know it's over said but wow this month has gone so fast. I can't believe just how fast this year is whizzing by. It's been a rather uneventful month but I felt busy without been over faced with stuff to do. The weather finally seemed to pick up and the rain has been more tropical rather than wintry. We had a lovely weekend of Summer sunshine which I have made the most of with a BBQ and reading in the garden, which was one of the highlights of the month.

Mini goals for August 7/10
    1. Take part in the #Sassybooks book club again
    2. Play a board game
    3. Get my hair cut
    4. Use prompts to take photos
    5. Post every other day
    6. Use up old products
    7. Enjoy the last of summer
    8. Go clothes shopping
    9. Go for a walk in a forest
    10. Do some baking
Yay! I made it to the end of the month and managed to post every other day. It's been a busy month for blogging and I think I might have to slow down the pace so I don't burn out but I'm so proud of myself for keeping this place so active.

I went to a games night and played a star wars game named X-wing, it was pretty interesting and not really a conventional board game but it counts. I had a little shopping trip with my sister way back at the beginning of the month, where I didn't really pick anything up but it was nice to get a vibe of the trends on the high street. I baked some scones as they are so simple and I really fancied some jam.

I failed on the photo prompts but I'm going to take this forward into next month and try again. I also didn't get my hair cut which is so naughty, it needs cutting so badly so it will be happening asap. I didn't spend enough time outdoors either but with autumn on it's way I will be spending more time in the outdoors as this is my favourite time for getting out and enjoying nature.

    Monthly Highlights | June

Hi, so June went fast right! The sun has finally shown up and I'm enjoying the mini heat wave. I hope the warmer weather sticks around long enough for my holiday. Today I'm looking back at my monthly goals and reflecting back on what I've done in the past month.

     Goals completed 4/10
    • Finish reading one book
    • Have a BBQ
    • Go for a long walk
    • Have a spring clean
    • Get rid of some stuff via donation or recycling
    • Do a DIY project/create something new
    • Wear a bold lip colour
    • Sell some clothes online
    • Take more photos of day to day life
    • Try a new meal recipe

Well I hope the weather next month is a little nicer for my camping trip. I failed at taking more daily photos as I just totally forget. The weather hasn't been nice enough to entice me out of the house with the effort of going on a walk and weekends have been poor for BBQ's, I'll be getting loads of outdoor air and eating outdoors a lot next month so oh well. I've had a massive sort out of some clothes and quite a lot went to charity, I've now got a pile waiting for me photograph and sell on Ebay. I finished reading a book which I have been struggling to enjoy so really glad that's over. I didn't wear a bold lip but I did try a new meal recipe for stir fry beef which was super yummy. I have some really good ideas for creative projects just need to get making now, one for next month. So I didn't do great on the goals but there's always next month.

    Recap/Highlights

    • I had to say goodbye to one of my friends as she moved down to London to be closer to her sister. I'm so glad I live in a time when it's so easy to keep in touch. It's not all bad as I now have a place to stay for London adventures when I visit her.
    • I went to the Honley Show, which is an agricultural show with loads of farm animals and a big entertainment arena where they had stunt bikes and bird of prey displays.
    • Lots of days doing nothing much, other than reading blogs and watching game of thrones. Sometimes it's just nice to relax and enjoy the fact you have nothing planned.

    I hope you've had a lovely month.
