Momentarily Dreaming is 2!

Hi, Momentarily dreaming is two! how time flies, it's been two whole year since I first pressed publish on my little blog. What a scary time that first post is but I'm so glad I did it. Blogging is an interesting hobby and one that I haven't always loved this year. I'm not driven by numbers but the fact that over 300 of you have actively decided to follow this space makes me so happy and thank you for sticking with me through my distant stages.

I figured what better way to celebrate than with cake so I treated myself to some cupcakes, I also wanted them for the photo because blogging right. The ones I picked up are from Asda and it's a chocolate and vanilla marble cake with complimenting frosting, it was really yummy.

At the moment I am so inspired and ready to produce content that I hope you will love and enjoy reading. I feel such a buzz and feeling of accomplishment when I'm happy with a post and excited to see what you guys think! So here's to another year of blogging, I hope to connect with you a lot more and your feedback is always welcome. Leave your links below and I'll be sure to check out your blog too.

Thank you for reading and helping to make my blog the best!

The A-Z of Me Tag

Hi, Last month I set myself the goal of writing a personal post, I didn't really know what to write about and haven't posted it until now. This is 'The A-Z of Me' tag which I thought was a really nice way to share some facts about myself with you. This post really made me think and I found it really hard to come up with something for each letter without it being lame or repeating myself.

I think this is only the second photo of myself I've posted on my blog, I'm really not photogenic and hate having my photo taken so I dug out this really old photo taken the same day as my folio photo, really should get over the fear and update that image. Hope you enjoy finding out a little more about me.

The One Lovely Blog Award

Hi, Just to let you know it might be a little quiet on my blog as I've got a horrid cold and just can't get my brain to work, but I'm trying my best. That aside I was really cheered up when I found that Moanymouse had nominated me for the 'One Lovely Blog Award', her blog is also rather lovely so you should go check it out. I know some people aren't always a fan of these chains but I love them because I think they are a great way for people to find new blogs to enjoy. So on to the award, I tried to research a little about this award but I couldn't really find any info on it's origin.

Award Rules
  • Thank the person who nominated you & provide a link to their blog.
  • List the rules and display the award.
  • State seven facts about yourself.
  • Nominate 5-10 bloggers for the award and leave a comment on one of their posts to let them know.

Seven Facts About Me
  1. I am really good at saving and been generally thrifty, I enjoy watching my money grow more than I enjoy spending it.
  2. I studied Art at University, I now work doing something vaguely artistic but my degree didn't help me get the job.
  3. I was a massive Sonic the Hedgehog fan as a kid, I'm talking Sega Sonic the original and the best.
  4. I am a Pisces, I'm not super into horoscopes but I do like to read them out of interest now and again.
  5. I'm 26 and I still don't feel like a grown up, I doubt I ever really will.
  6. I'm afraid of falling signage, like the giant letters on the front of buildings. (A little weird maybe? but it happens).
  7. I think the sun is the prettiest in the winter when you crave it more, on one of those really crisp winters days where it seems unnaturally bright.
Now for my Nominations!

Patti - Shiftingtales
Hannah - inthelifeofhan
Megan - Megan Jean
Bethany - Curly and Wordy
Sarah - Sarah Eliza
Georgia - Love On The Wall

8 Ways To Overcome Bloggers Block

Hi, Hope you are having a lovely weekend so far, mine has been rather uneventful but very relaxing. Sometimes it's just nicer to have some down time and sit on the sofa all day. In my case I've been catching up with my Bloglovin feed which gets crazy busy, drinking tea and awaiting the time to order some naughty takeaway food.

So today I've put together a list of ways to get around bloggers block when it hits. Luckily I still have a few ideas waiting to be posted, but I figured it was personally best to have something to look back on for inspiration. Hopefully I can help some of you as well.

Ways to Overcome Bloggers Block

Think Like a Blogger
Everything is a blog post waiting to happen. Shop your stash of beauty products or talk about a favourite brand. Reflect on a shopping trip or day out. Write some wishlists or create a Blogroll.

Get Out and About
Taking time away from your blog will give you time to think about future posts. Referring back to my first point, going out gives you plenty of subject matter if you look at the situation in the right way.

Photograph Everything
This is something I struggle with and need to work on changing. Photographing that pretty flower, pile of autumn leaves or the bluest sky can all make lovely backdrops from wording to introduce a post. Doing this means you have a few points of inspiration for later posts or simply a nice image to use when you have nothing related to your post topic.

Write Everything Down
Wether it's on an app on your phone or that super cute notebook you treated yourself to because blogging. Make notes about anything and everything that inspires you.

Read Other Blogs
Don't compare your blog to others, but you can find inspiration from other blogs. There might be a trending theme or a blog tag doing the rounds which you can use as content.

Brainstorm
Your first idea might not be your best, by brainstorming ideas you can work out the best possible way to share your content. You will also get a lot of ideas from this so you can work out exactly what you want to post about.

Make a Start
If you make a start you might find that ideas just flow and you've got posts ready in no time. When I'm lacking the ability to put a coherent sentence together, I spend my time just writing out bullet points to refer back to at a later date and bulk out. I find this works for me as then if I have a few free hours I can get a few posts finished and ready to proof read and add images to.

Have a Plan
I like to schedule my post so I can plan what is going to be posted when. Having some form of plan makes time organization easier. This also stops me from accidental pressing publish rather than save. Doing this means that I know which posts I need to priorities and get photos/images ready for.

I hope this is helpful. Do you have any of your own tips?
Sam

Versatile Blogger Award - Again

Hi, I got nominated for the versatile blogger award again, I wasn't sure I wanted to do the post again but it's not really fair on my nominator and I can use this opportunity to share some more blogs that I love to read with you. I was nominated by the lovely Sherrie Adele, go and check out her blog (thank you for the nomination).

 The Versatile Blogger Rules:

  • Post the award on your blog
  • Thank the person who nominated you
  • Share seven facts about yourself
  • Nominate 15 blogs and let them know

So here goes with my seven facts about me, if you would like to read my first seven facts you can do so here. Again I'm going to try and think of interesting facts about myself.
  1. My favourite colour is rainbow, I was trying to think of a single colour but I just can't decide, is it a rule that you can only have one favourite and not a collection because in that case its green and purple, like a piece of fluorite.
  2. I love hats, I think I really suit them, but then that's just my opinion. There's nothing better than autumn when a felt hat is basically a requirement with pretty much every outfit I wear.
  3. I watch the new My Little Pony series, Pinkie Pie is my favourite pony, she's always so bouncy and fun as a character.
  4. I don't like to pay full price for anything, chances are if I can't get it reduced I will do without.
  5. I would describe myself as alternative even though my style has grown up a lot, my taste in music is very much the same as 16 year old Sam's. Favorites include Green Day, Blink 182, Reel Big Fish, Sum 41, My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy and Paramore to name a few.
  6. My favourite fruity scent is coconut, it's such a relaxing, fresh and sweet smelling scent.
  7. I'm a Marmite lover, I don't eat it as much as I once did, cheese and Marmite sandwiches are the best.
Here are my nominations - I tried to pick blogs with smaller amounts of followers to support those bloggers like myself just staring out and lost in the crowd of the many blogs on the internet. There are a few blogs who I just really like and had to include. They're all really awesome blogs and you should go check them out.
  1. Amanda - Amanda Janye
  2. Kirsty - Kirsty Talks
  3. Kacy - KacyTalksBeauty
  4. Deimante - Sunnydei
  5. Natasha - Eyebrows, Inc
  6. Becky - Becky Eschle
  7. Jenna - Dorkface
  8. Alice - What Alice Wore
  9. Lois - Makeup Of Mayhem
  10. Nicole - Life in Ginger
  11. Lauren - What Lauren Did Today
  12. Emily - One Stormy Sunday
  13. Crystal Lily - Five Foot Four
  14. Katie - Katie Goodluck
  15. Alexandra - A Blond Moment
Thanks again to Sherrie for the nomination. I couldn't be happier with my blog and it's progress. Thank you for reading I hope you'll stick around for a while to come. Let me know if there are any post subjects you would like me to work on.

Versatile Blogger Award

Hi, I woke up this morning to find I had been nominated for the Versatile Blogger award, such a lovely thing to start the day. I was nominated by the lovely Sonam over at FashtasticFlare, you should go check out her blog, thanks for the nomination.

The Versatile Blogger Rules:
  •  Post the award on your blog
  • Thank the person who nominated you
  • Share seven facts about yourself
  • Nominate 15 blogs

So here are my seven things about me, I'm trying to think of more in depth facts rather than the normal small stuff, it's quite hard to think of things that are interesting, but here goes, enjoy!
  1. I take photos at my place of work and I mean a lot of photos but never remember to take photos of day to day life. I guess I'm too busy living it instead, but one photo every now and then would be nice.
  2.  I feel like 26 is old to start blogging and that it's a world for the younger generation, but here I am trying anyway.
  3. I refuse to grow up, I mean this in the sense that I love all things Pokemon, My little Pony, Lego the list goes on. I will forever buy Pokemon games for Nintendo DS, I even went as far as buying a console for the last game as it wasn't compatible with my trusty original DS.
  4. I don't care what people think. I have odd moments of self doubt but normally I really don't care, I like to buy items of clothing that make me stand out.
  5. I'm a tidy person but I tend to live in an organized chaos, this is due to the fact my room is tiny. My room is a cut off from my parents so I could have my own space away from my sister. 13 years on and my habit of buying clothes has made it a tight squeeze.
  6. My favorite flowers are daffodils, they come out around my birthday and I love that they are quite short lived making me love them even more when they return the following year.
  7. I studied a degree in art which I finished 5 years ago now. I haven't done anything all that creative since like my artistic side got worn out or something, I'd love to get back into doing some small projects.
Here are my nominations - They're all really awesome blogs and you should go check them out.
  1. Sammii - Always Rains Glitter
  2. Hayley - Hayerlily
  3. Camille - Camille.i.am
  4. Alexandra - A Blond Moment
  5. Emma - Emma's Looking Glass
  6. Phoebe - Phoebe's Diary
  7. Jennie - Sunny Sweet Pea
  8. Victoria - vvnightingale
  9. Sara - She Who Is Short
  10. Susan - Dresses & Travel
  11. Hayley - Sailor Stories
  12. Amy - Amy Elizabeth
  13. Sarah - Sarah Louise Porter
  14. Amelia - Heart Shaped Rose
  15. Tessa - Holly Sparkle
I'd like to thank everyone who has followed and reads my blog so far. I am really happy with the progress I have made in such a small amount of time and I hope you'll stick around to see momentarily dreaming grow.

Thanks for reading.
Sam
