I can honestly say I don't think I have ever used my Boots points, so they had accumulated to over £15. I don't really shop at Boots all that much either so if you wait for the right times to buy everyday products such as on triple points days and with bonus points vouchers, it is probably quite easy to accumulate a vast amount of points.

Over the Valentines/ Mother's Day period this 100ml bottle was on offer for £14.99 down from £38.50. Buying a pricier item when on sale means you get more value for your points. There's nothing better than walking out of a shop with almost £40 worth of product totally free.

London and Wicked

On Wednesday I traveled down to London with my friend to see Wicked. In all honesty I had no idea what the show was about other than there was a witch in it. Wicked is set as a back story to the Wizard of Oz in a 'Maleficent' style where you get to know the back story for the original portrayal of the Wicked Witch of the West and it turns out she really wasn't that 'Wicked' after all.

I really enjoyed the show, the cast where really good and the set and costume designs where colourful and exciting, It's amazing how a few different backdrops can take the story to a totally different location in a matter of seconds. We decided to save money on a hotel by traveling to and from London in the same day via train (we bagged our tickets in advance for £26 return). We opted to see a matanay performance of the show at 2.30 in the afternoon to make this possible.

I think one of the most important things to do in preparation for traveling down to the other end of the country is to have a plan of what you want to do with your day. It's super easy for time to fly past just traveling around on the tube, so it's great to have an idea of the places you want to visit and do them in an order that requires as little over lapping of traveling as possible. Also don't plan to do too much, better to truly enjoy the few activities you do, than try and rush lots.

9.30am - We were awaiting our train in Leeds station, we had got all the long distance train required provisions for the trip including our lunch and a cheeky can of Kopparberg Mixed Fruit (They are 330ml so a super handy size for a naughty little drink). Eating on the train saved time finding food to consume once we arrived, plus it's something to do while traveling, as it's so boring.

12 Noon - We arrived in London and after topping up our Oyster Cards we headed straight to The Natural History Museum for a quick look around. We planned to go here as it wasn't that far to then travel to Victoria for the show.

2.30pm - The show started and we were taken to the World of Oz.

5.30pm - After the show we headed to Westminster, again not that far too travel, to do some sight seeing. I'd researched a boat bar near to the embankment tube station so we headed there on foot from Westminster for some time to chat about what we had just witnessed.

7.00pm - After enjoying a refreshing pint with a view of the houses of parliament and the London Eye we headed to Covent Garden for a bite to eat. We weren't 100% sure where we wanted to eat but we both knew we wanted to try somewhere that wasn't a chain that we can find locally. We decided to eat at Joe's Southern Kitchen & Bar after a quick scan of the menu. We opted for a sharer started of BBQ chicken wings, which I followed with a chicken burger with a topping of guacamole and jalapeno peppers and a side of fries, super yummy.

8.30pm - After food we headed back to Kings Cross station to wait for our train home and a last minuet shopping trip for needed water and sweeties for the journey.

9.45pm - We set off back to Leeds after a busy day. I had an amazing fun packed day and spent most of the journey home sleeping (I couldn't help it).

Spring Capsule Wardrobe | H&M

With Spring around the corner I decided to look into the concept of a capsule wardrobe. I'm a bit of a shop-alcoholic, Primark is my down fall, but I figured this would be a good way to stop unnecessary purchases and maybe show me a few gaps in my current spring clothes.

The idea is to pick a number of items around the 35 piece mark and style them multiple ways to create a capsule wardrobe. Keeping a colour scheme seems to be key, using a mixture of neutral colours that work well together. As my wardrobe is mainly black/grey I figured this was the best place to start.

I have used H&M for the entire capsule wardrobe as I might do some for a few different high street stores and compare trends and budgets. I have kept the colour scheme very neutral in order to make the pieces as versatile as possible. My selection contains 35 items and comes to a grand total of £483.65 (If my calculations are correct). All the piece I have chosen can be worn all year round but the hints of pale pink in some items is my attempt at the spring trend with the pop of pastel colour.

I have tried to select as many similar items to ones I already own to illustrate to myself that I have more than enough clothes. I feel that I need to maybe buy a few key pieces and I will be ready for the spring season. This was a fun way to see all the different varieties of clothing items together to inspire me to try new ways of mixing the items I already own to create some new outfit ideas.

H&M Wish List | Alternative Grunge

I'm forever looking at H&M's website, I'm a little bit addicted but their prices really can't be beaten (apart from Primark) for the quality of the goods. I recently spied a nice selection of items from the trusty divided range and thought I'd share a outfit I would like to purchase.

Cut Out Knee Jeans - £24.99 | Marl Grey T-shirt - £9.99

I've picked these items as I always seem to dress slightly grunge/alternative without trying, so this is a lighter take on my style which is more spring appropriate. I really want to get a pair of ripped jeans as they are the seasons must have item. I really like the colour I think true white can be a bit bold and you have to be brave. These are a great alternative, just having that slight grey wash makes then a little more subtle. I really want the shoes because I'm in need of a new pair of slip on trainers as my pair from Primark are finally dying (can't complain I've worn them to death, so comfy). Unfortunately they are currently out of stock in my size but I'm hoping they get some more stock. I've got a thing for layering long T-shirts and cropped jumper at the moment, I think the unraveled finish on the jumper is quite grunge and the colour is different from what I'd normally buy (I'm trying to work more neutral colours into my wardrobe rather than black and grey). Everything comes to just under £70 which for a whole outfit is pretty good.

Homeware Haul #1 | Ikea

Hi a little haul of Ikea lovelies to share with you today. I love buying home ware items, I currently live at home with the parent saving for a mortgage. I want a place I can make my own really badly, needs to happen sooner than later as I have zero storage space for all the things I can't resist buying.

Firstly if you haven't signed up to be an Ikea Family Member do it now! It gets you discounts on selected items, discounts in the restaurant and damage insurance when transporting your goods home.

They also give you a welcome voucher for one packs of 100 Glimma T-lights (I love a good freebie).

Anyway so I went to Ikea early January with my voucher in hand and went to see if there where any sale goodies to be had. I didn't find that much reduced but I did get some super pretty Teacups, they where reduced from £6 to £2 for a pair. I also bought a tea infuser to use with the teacups when I get some loose green tea to try. Candles are a must when visiting Ikea and I found these amazing purple pot ones (Chevrons!!!), I also picked up an orange one as I had already selected the super cheap orange bedding for my room. Continuing the orange theme I picked up some patterned tins for storing odds and ends. I bought the jar to store cotton pads in and the rug fits perfectly in the small area of floor space I have in my room.

There is a definite orange theme. Have you bought anything nice in Ikea recently?

Birthday Wishlist

My birthdays not for another month but February whizzes by and then bang its here.

This year I will be 26! Ouch but its just a number. So here are a few things I would love for my birthday.

Well Lush has released something with Unicorn in the name so now I've got to try it. Bubble Bars are by far my favourite Lush creation, Brightside is my normal go too product. These teapots are a little on the pricey side but are really well designed. Inside is a removable loose tea infuser so no bits get in your tea and it's easy to clean. I also need tea to brew, green tea is my favourite (I don't like normal tea or coffee, weird I know). The book is illustrated by one of my favourite artist's Camille Rose Garcia. She's amazing I have her other fairytale books too, this is another to add to the collection. Go check out her work seriously. I don't own any of Taylor's back catalogue, how did that happen?. Well time to change that, I really want this album and random fact we where born in the same year. How amazing is this John Greed origami pegasus necklace.

H&M | Sale Finds

I failed at the January sales this year. I haven't had the time to go to Leeds to check out the shops and the smaller stores in my local town don't have the variety to hold the sale gems. As for online sales everything worth having was long gone. So the other day I decided to check out my favorite store's website as they had free delivery on offer and I picked up some nice basics from the sale.

The jumper is super soft with an interesting knit. I love the colour, it will fit right into my wardrobe. I had to get it a size up from what I'd normally get, due to stock, but its the perfect length to wear with leggings (which I always have a problem pairing with a top).

I forgot I'd even ordered the boots, H&M's shipping ain't the fastest, but they where worth the wait.
When I opened the parcel I didn't regret my purchase as they are awesome. A mixture of snake skin patterned suede and black leather look straps with black buckles. They have just enough of a heel for extra height without losing comfort.

The T-shirt what can I say, it's a nice basic. It's very boxy and almost bat winged with a ribbed texture, I plan to wear it tucked into skater skirts.

And lastly the flower headband, I saw this at full price and have been lusting over it and waiting for it to hit the sales, it's pretty meets Gothic, a winner with me.
