Why I’ll Never Be A Fashion Blogger

Hi, With my recent absence from blogging it has given me time to reflect on what and where I want my blog to be. When I first found the world of blogs it was the fashion blogs that I read the most. I still follow all those blogs but my interests have inevitably changed over the years and I’m much more interested in home improvements and food now. My blog has never been as fashion related as I'd originally planned and after almost three years of blogging I’m yet to do an 'Outfit of the Day' post. For fun I've put together a list of reasons why this will probably never change. I did once, a very long time ago, go out to do a fashion post but it didn’t go very well and I've never felt ready to try again.

I Don’t Have Anyone to Help Take Photos

This one is kind of self-inflicted because as daft as it might sound my other half is the only person who knows about my blog. As a result my choice of photographer is limited to him and while he did try he just couldn’t get what angles and stuff I wanted in the photos. He did however take my profile pic which is one of very few photos of myself I actually like, I have to give him credit for that.

I’m Not Photogenic

I'm not hating on myself, it's just a fact that I don't have a good angle. It's something that has forever annoyed me and honestly I’ve developed a dislike of cameras as I never look like me in photos. You might have noticed that I never post selfies and there’s like two photos of my face within the posts on my blog.

I Don’t Know What To Do With My Hands

I could come up with an outfit I like but then look like a total idiot in the photos because I just don’t know how to pose. I know this is something you'd learn with practice but it just makes the whole process take longer.

Finding Locations

You don’t need to have a different location for every outfit but lets be honest it keeps things fresh. I could set up a camera against a white wall, but that just wouldn’t be keeping up with all the other amazing fashion bloggers (my aesthetic goal is clearly too high for a newbie). I also rarely leave the house to find those amazing outdoor locations.

The Horror of Taking Photos in Public

You find the perfect location and it’s right on a busy main road or in a very busy park. I’m sure if I looked harder I’d find hidden gems of locations perfect for my shy self. On my one outing I just didn’t feel comfortable and like someone was going to walk past and judge us, but why do I care? social anxiety cares I guess.

I Can’t Afford to Keep Up With the Trends

This is a part truth because with places like Primark and my own style of just picking key pieces, I could probably keep up with the trends but do I really want too? I think fast fashion is something we need to curb as it's really not good for the environment or our bank balance.

My Style is Very Basic

My outfits wouldn't be that interesting. I've got a style uniform of a pair of skinny jeans, a plain t-shirt, a long cardigan and a pair of Dr Martens. While I'd consider my style to be alternative it's been diluted over the years to me just having a very neutral wardrobe.

It’s Just Too Much Effort For Me

While I’d love to do an OOTD post I’m really just not motivated enough to put myself through the effort of all of the above issues to come to edit the photos and hate every one. Maybe this is something I should have a go at but do it on a whim while out somewhere rather than putting so much pressure on the moment.

8 Packing Tips For A City Break

Hi, I've booked me and the boyfriend a night away in York I wanted to share with you my packing tips. We will be heading to York via public transport so we will have to carry our luggage most of the time until we finally arrive at our hotel. I plan on taking a small rucksack which I will be using over the weekend because they're so spacious and more comfortable to wear.

Packing Tips For A City Break

Make a list
I always start packing by making a list of everything I need to pack. This allows for planning and eliminates the chance of forgetting anything important. I always pack things like train tickets first.

Check out the weather
Pack for the weather and climate of the place you are traveling to not where you are leaving.

Be Strict
I'm the worst at packing for wearing clothing in the future, I never know what I'll want to wear and then I want to pack everything. If like me you pack too much you'll regret the weight later. Work out exactly how much you need and then plan your outfits.

Choose the Best Bag For the Job
I'm taking a rucksack on this journey but depending on how you're traveling or how long you're traveling for a bigger or more mobile bag might be a better option. 

Day to Night
A good tip for space saving is to try and wear outfits that are transitional between day and night with only a few changes like jewellery or footwear. 

Wear Comfy Footwear
Generally when I'm traveling or know I'm going to be carrying extra weight I think it's really important to protect my feet by wearing comfy footwear. I personally live in Dr Martens which are so supportive to feet when worn for a long time, plus really fashionable.

Pack Light Items
You'll be lugging all this stuff around so pack as light as possible. I think dresses are a great option because it's a one piece outfit.

Take Travel Sized
Another way to reduce the weight of your bag is to take travel sized cosmetics or if you're only staying one night forgo them as much as possible and take advantage of what's available at your hotel.

I hope these tips are helpful as starting points for when you're trying to pack. I think these tips become more helpful when you are traveling for a longer time and a further distance but are still really relevant.

Empty Casket | Investing in Sterling Silver

Hi, I finally invested in some proper jewellery, as much as I love to pick up a few simple rings from Primark ect I always end up gutted that they just don't last and look shabby in no time at all. As a result I decided it was probably in my best interest to start investing in some sterling silver pieces, which will last me for years to come.

So what did I pick to start my new collection, well this lovely little dainty Stag skull ring from Empty Casket. I found the company via Instagram and fell in love with this ring the first time I saw it. It truly is a dainty ring and smaller than I imagined it to be but it's the perfect size. I think the price of £18 is very reasonable considering the quality of the skull cast. The ring came beautifully packaged in a box embossed with the Empty Casket logo, which in itself is beautiful. I can't wait to wear this and I'm sure it will be a firm favourite, just need to watch I don't pull every jumper I own.

Winter Clothing Essentials

Jeans/Trousers
It's colder so shorts and skirts are not the most practical item to be wearing unless you've got a super thick pair of tights. I'm totally still going to rock the ripped knee look no matter how cold my knees get but just having more fabric covering your skin will keep you much warmer.

Woolly Jumper
An essential item and one that I don't feel bad about indulging in a few different colours at least. Buying over sized jumpers makes for the most effortless and seasonal appropriate outfit you could wear.

Boots
A good sturdy pair of boots that are weather appropriate are a must for the colder months, they will keep you feet dry and warm. I always go back to my Dr Martens as they are stylish and super comfortable (after you break them in).

A Winter Coat
The item of clothing that will undoubtedly get the most wear during the colder months, unless you pick up a few. I'd love to pick up a faux fur coat but I really don't know if I could pull it off. When picking a coat make sure it's one that works with the rest of your wardrobe.

Hats, Scarf and Gloves
My favourite part of the colder months is getting wrapped up in a hat and scarf before leaving the house. Again pick something that compliments your wardrobe but there's nothing stopping you having a few choices. I've picked up the nicest monochrome fluffy scarf from Primark this year.

TAG | Closet Confidential

Hi, Yay for the weekend! I'm off to talk to the bank about mortgages today and I'm a little stressed out at having to pretend to feel grown up enough to be talking of such things. I'm scared by the prospect of parting with so much money, but on the other hand I'm very excited at the idea of been a home owner and having my own space. As a result of the mixed emotions I'm having a bit of a blogging brain mush moment so I hope you don't mind if I do a tag post.

1. What's the oldest item in your wardrobe/closet?
I'm not ashamed to say I have a lot of old items as my style doesn't really change. One of the oldest items I own would have to be a silver faux leather jacket I got in the sale from River Island, it's so unusual.

2. What is the newest item?
The newest item would be a collection of black and white stripy tops, general basics but a wardrobe staple. 

3. What is the most expensive item?
The most expensive would be my Dr Martens but I generally buy them in the sale for around the £50 mark. I think the most I've paid is £70 for the metallic purple pair which I will be wearing this autumn.

4. What is the most affordable/cheapest item (that you use a lot)?
This would be my denim jacket that I bought for a mere £12 when everywhere else was selling them for £20 plus. I wear it all the time, worth every penny. 

5. What is the biggest bargain?
My wardrobe probably only contains about 5% of things I paid full price for so this is a hard one. I got an amazing kimono from H&M in the spring for £6 and that was full price, so yeah that! 

6. What is the biggest waste of money?
This would be all the sale items I buy and then never wear and a habit I made a point of putting an end to this year by only looking at sales for items I need rather than buying because it's cheap. Choosing one item it would have to be a Topshop skirt I paid £25 for because I fell in love with it only for the fabric to look like it was years old after only one wash. 

7. What are your 3 favourite items right now?
Dark grey acid wash jeans, burgundy felt hat and my super warm woolly jumper. 

8. What is the most outrageous/colourful item in your closet (that you absolutely love)?
I own a pair of jeans covered in a space inspired tie-dye pattern of turquoise and pink on dark blue. They look nicer than they sounds honestly.

9. What is your favourite piece that you've gotten as a gift?
I don't get bought clothes as presents but I do get rather a lot of H&M gift cards (people know me so well). So I'd have to say pajamas, they count right?

10. What is the most comfortable item?
I have some lovely smock dresses which are super simple but look dressy enough for a meal out and they are amazingly flattering and hide the food baby.

11. What is the most uncomfortable item (but you would take the pain because you love it)?
Either braking in a new pair of Dr Martens or I have a skirt where the waist band sits a little weirdly as a result it digs in but looks fine, it's saved for days when I'm not planning on eating out.

12. Pick your favourite black item and favourite white item.
I own loads of black and about a grand total of two white items. The black item would be my Fedora and the white an over sized jumper.

13. Where do you shop at most?
This would be a close tie between H&M and Primark.

Autumnal Fashion Wishlist

Hi, I haven't bought any new clothes for about two months now, I've been avoiding the summer sales. With the weather dropping cold all of a sudden I'm in real need of some new jumpers and generally a style update. While browsing some online stores I found a few items that caught my eye. I have unintentionally gone for a theme of monochrome and burgundy which is pretty much my wardrobes colour palette. Autumn is my favourite season for clothes shopping, sorry bank balance.

H&M is by far my favourite store, it's uncommon for me to leave a store without making a purchase. I've been very much looking forward to seeing their Autumn lines and as yet I haven't seen anything amazing, so hopefully there is more to come, but I did find some nice pieces.

Last year I wanted a faux fur waistcoat but I missed out on getting one. To my joy they are back again this year, I found this one which is also available in black. It's now sat in my online basket waiting for a discount day. Along with the waistcoat I've picked some ripped jeans in grey. I love monochrome items as I find them easier to style and they work well with a pop of colour.

Looking at the wishlist I have been drawn to accessories. My H&M finds include the Suede Bucket bag and the burgundy trainers. Online they look almost the same colour, I'd love to know if they really are, burgundy is such a lovely colour. The bag is very on trend with the fabric and tassel detail. A little expensive but it's genuine suede so you get what you pay for. I need a new pair of trainers and my favourite type are the slip on style.

There are a few bits I want to pick up from Primark, when I finally get chance to go. These are the grid tote and the fluffy keyring. I just think they are really nice pieces and work well with other items I already own. The tote looks like it's waterproof so would make a nice stylish book bag.

Lastly I've picked a pair of Dr Martens from the new collection, which I will not be buying as I have given myself a ban until I have worn my newest pair. You can't really see the detail on the photo but they have a stitched rose design which is both pretty and Gothic.

5 Tips For Sorting Your Wardrobe For The New Season

Hi, With autumn arriving and the new fashion season to accompany it, I was thinking about items I might need to buy to cover all bases and what items need replacing. To do this I plan to sort out the clothing items I already own by having a wardrobe tidy up. Doing this will make it easier to work out what staple items are in my collection and what items are worn out. Below are a list of questions which I will be using to sort my own wardrobe, I hope you find them helpful.

 Questions To Ask Yourself While Wardrobe Sorting

First Things First!
Empty your wardrobe, it's a good idea to make sure you have time to finish the sort out in one session. Starting from scratch makes it so you have to consider every item before placing it back. Before returning anything to the wardrobe there are a few questions you should ask yourself.

When did you last wear it?
I have a lot of items in my collection that I can't remember the last time I wore. A good way to see if you still wear an item is to turn all the hangers the wrong way round, the next time you come to have a sort out if the hanger is still the wrong way round get rid.

Does it fit? 
If it doesn't fit, your unlikely to wear it and it won't be making you feel as great as another item could. If it doesn't fit consider getting rid and make more room for something else that makes you feel amazing. Alternatively you could consider getting the item altered but that all depends on your attachment to said idea and if it's worth the money.

Does it work for the season? 
If it's a summer item consider putting it away in storage to free up more space in your wardrobe. Doing this means you can make the most of seasonal appropriate items you have without been over whelmed by too much choice from items you can't even wear.

How can you wear it?
A good way to organize your wardrobe is to have an idea of how you can wear all the items in there. If you can't make it work with other items you own you most likely won't wear it. Give yourself a mini photo shot of how you've put items together for inspiration for those I have nothing to wear days.

Fashion | H&M Sale Haul

Hi, Today I finally got around to photographing the bits I picked out from the H&M sale. I was really impressed with the pieces that I picked up and only sent two things back. I think most of these items are out of season for the hotter weather that has finally arrived, but the dress is a floaty dream.

 High Waist Jeans £10 | Pink Jumper £7 | Dress £12 | Ripped Jeans £12 | Loafers £6 | Bedding Set £10

Dress - I love it! the highlight of my picks and I'm so glad I dared to try it. It is a really light floaty material, but not see through because it's double lined with black fabric. It is a really flattering fit even on my small torso, it sits in all the right places giving curves where needed and the pattern is really slimming. The only thing that I'm not so keen on is the body length exposed zip down the back but I think I can forgive the dress that one fault. It's not horrid after all it could have been gold.

Ripped Jeans -  I've wanted a pair of ripped jeans but I always have the issue that the knee rips never fall in the right place as my legs are a little short. These fit and look really nice because of the random placement of the rips which means that I can get away with wearing them and can finally take part in the ripped jeans trend. I really like how light the blue wash on these jeans is, very summery.

High Waist Jeans - I bought these in dark blue and loved the look and feel of them, so when I saw this grey pair in the sale I couldn't help but buy them too. They are quite a light grey wash in comparison to all my other grey jeans which makes a nice change.

Black Loafers - These are different from any other pair of flats I own (and I own a few). I decided they are a classic piece that would last me a good while. They are suede and have loads of inbuilt foot support which is a nice added bonus. I think this style of shoe works best worn with trousers, so they are a more summery option to my Dr Martens.

Pink Jumper - I know it's the height of summer and I bought a jumper. It is Britain after all so jumpers are never redundant for very long. This is a really pretty weave of different textured wool, this to me means it will last longer as this texture hides any bobbles. It has cropped sleeves which makes it a little more spring friendly. It has detailing of a gold zip on the back of the neck.

Bedding Set - How pretty is that pattern. I'm a little bit addicted to the whole chevron trend and I hope it sticks around long enough that when I have my own place I can go mad with is. I love the pop of yellow against the pastel pink and grey hues, it such a refreshing piece for my room during the summer months, and it looks great as a blog photo backdrop.

John Greed | Origami Pegasus Necklace

Hi, When I first found this necklace on the John Greed website I fell in love. I'm into all things mystical so a Pegasus is right up my street (I have a small my little pony addiction). Then there's the fact that it's styled to look like origami, I mean how pretty is that. The best bit of all is how cheap it is, at only £19.95 it's a steal for a Sterling Silver necklace, you can even buy matching earrings. There are a few different designs available including a flamingo, Rabbit, Parrot and a Horse.

John Greed | Pegasus Necklace

I have worn the necklace non-stop since I was very kindly gifted it for my birthday, so it's been worth every penny for cost per wear. It's a really nice dainty size full of detail. I love that I don't have to worry about it wearing out like costume jewellery. I have had so many compliments on how much of a statement piece it is. I would highly recommend these pieces for quality and originality.

Primark Mini Haul | Summer Basics

Hi, I've got a selection of a few things I recently picked up from Primark to share with you. When in store I tried to pick up a range of items that worked together, I think I did quite well as all of the items featured would make a nice summer outfit.

Snake Effect Flats - £5 | Striped T-shirt - £4.00 | Shorts - £3.90 | 90's Choker - £1.50 | Sun Glasses - £2

I spotted the shoes, the shape was what caught my eye, I had to stop myself getting too excited as I never find a size 3 in Primark, but this time I was lucky and managed to grab the last pair. They are made of a matte leather effect snakeskin pattern, which looks way more expensive than they cost. They have an element of cushioning inside and look to have a reasonable amount of grip, I look forward to getting a lot of wear out of these.

The shorts where on offer from £5 to £3.90, I figured they would be good for sunning in the garden if nothing else. They are a khaki green, a colour I do not own in shorts. They are quite a short cut but I very rarely don't wear tights even during the summer.

The T-shirt is one of those ribbed tees which everyone seems to have. They are very small fitting and quite sheer so I sized up, it looks really nice and loose and just the right length to wear with high wasted jeans without been too cropped.

I always get my sunglasses from Primark as they have some pretty nice designs and I'm super clumsy. If I spent a lot of money on a pair I can bet they would be scratched, broken or lost before the summer was over. These are a great alternative and great to take to festivals.

I've wanted a 90's choker for a while but I didn't want to spend the prices Topshop is asking. Primark finally had a restock of these in the Leeds store so I finally picked one up.

Sale and Wishlist | H&M

Hi, Signing up to email alerts from shops can be A. Good because you can make savings when they have discount days and be made aware of the sales, B. Bad because they make you spend money. This all leads to the fact I got an email from H&M to promote their mid season sale, £100 later and I have new stuff coming in the post. I'll do a little haul of the stuff I keep once it arrives. They also have some new lines and after a quick look I've put together a wishlist of some items for another day (I'm waiting for a good discount code).

Cotton Shorts - £14.99 | Moon Crop Top - £6.99 | Trainers - £14.99

Rings - £7.99 | Cushion Cover - £3.99 | T-light Holder - £1.99

Just a few bits but the crop top is really cute and the print screams 90's to me (I know the whole 70's thing is in but you're never going to see me in flares). The lace cotton shorts are perfect for super hot summer days so I'll probably only buy these if I book a holiday abroad, there's still time. The rings are a little over priced for my liking but they are statement pieces. The cushion cover is monochrome interior patterning at it's best for my taste and the T-light holder continues the lack of colour but with a really decorative pattern. Lastly are the trainers I have been after a pair of leather effect slip on trainers for ages but every where keeps selling out so maybe I'll grab a pair of these before it's too late.

Mini Clothing Haul | H&M

Hi, today I've got a small collection of items from H&M to share with you. I love discount codes and had been waiting for one to be added to the H&M website for a while, I save items in my basket and wait for a good discount deal to come along before placing my order. This time they offered a 20% discount if you spend over £80 with free delivery. This offer has ended but they do similar offers all the time. I saw this as my opportunity to pick up a few staple pieces I had saved to my basket. I sent quite a lot of my order back, but I kept some really nice pieces.

High Waist Jeans - £14.99  | Grey High Waist Shorts - £12.99
Blue High Waist Shorts - £12.99 | Cream Knitted Cropped Jumper £7.99
White Laser Cut Pumps - £9.99

High Waist Jeans: I decided to try something new with these high waist jeans, I'm not sure I suite them because I'm so short (all legs no body) but they looked really nice on. They are a really dark denim with a slight acid wash finish, skinny fit and a really soft material.

High Waist Shorts: Both pairs are almost the same cut but the blue ones have pockets at the front. Again trying something out of my comfort zone, but I love both of them, I think I suite these better than the jeans and they make my legs seem really long. It seems I just can't resist denim in an acid wash, no matter what colour.

Pumps: These are going to be my go too summer flats. White, laser cut and super cute. They are really comfortable and fit really snug on my feet which for a 3.5 is a surprise. They have a tan coloured sole and the holes in the shoes should keep my feet nice and cool in the warmer months.

Cropped Jumper: I bought this jumper in Karki a while ago and just love how the cropped length looks on me. I decided to opt for another one in more of a summer shade, so I bought this really nice cream one. It looks a totally different colour online, I only bought it because I'd seen the true colour in store before ordering. Hopefully this will look nice with the high waist jeans and will take me right through to the winter months.

Festival Survival Kit #1 | Outfits

Hi, I'm going to do a mini series on my version of a festival survival kit, I've been to Download and Leeds Festival, so I have a little experience and have come up with some tips to help you pack for any festivals you maybe going to. It's an experience waiting to happen, just remember to have fun and keep safe.

To start off this series I'm focusing on festival outfits. The problem with a British festival is you have to plan for all types of weather. I've been during heat waves and also five days of constant drizzle. Everyone wants to look as stylish as possible, but more importantly you should dress to look after yourself.

I normally pack a fresh outfit for everyday, consisting of a t-shirt, shorts and a pair of tights. This way even if you can't bring yourself to use the showers you feel a little refreshed and ready for another day, also if it rains the whole weekend you've got a nice dry outfit waiting for you. Pros of this outfit combo are you don't get too hot, it dries quickly if you get stuck in the rain and it's smaller and lighter to pack so can fit more in to your backpack.

At night it gets cold, so a hat and gloves are a must even if it's just for when you're sleeping. Also hats are amazing for those morning toilets trips before you've had time to fully wake up.

Dr Martens boots or similar are a good footwear choice but don't go wreaking them. Buy a cheaper alternative if you don't have an old weathered pair as you'll end up wrecking them. They are a good choice because they are super comfy and the bouncy sole technology looks after your feet. Also if it's muddy they don't get stuck in the mud and fall off like wellies do.

Extra socks, this is only really an issue if it's muddy, but with my experience that's more than normal. Wear two pairs at once, pull one up to keep your legs warm pull the other down over your laces. If the mud is deep it gets all over the laces and makes it impossible to remove your boots without using a whole pack of wet wipes to clean the mud from your hands after. Doing this with the socks means you can remove your socks to reveal totally mud free laces.

Take a jumper, I'd normally take a hoodie and wear it down to save room in my bag. Again this is important because even if there is a heat wave during the day once the sun goes down it gets cold. Consider taking a thin cardigan or kimono as well for during the day to keep your skin out of direct sunlight.

Other optional extras you may want to take with you to finish off your festival look are a floral crown and a pair of sunglasses. Remember not to take anything you might regret ruining.

New Dr Martens | Mermaid Feet

Hi, lets all take a second to admire this wonderful creation by Dr Martens. These are probably a love/hate item, but still you can't deny they are something else. I have many pairs of Dr Martens boots but this pair is by far the most elaborate pair I own, I'm 100% in love with them. I have Peaches at Stylepeaches to thank for these beauties. She posted an ootd featuring them a while ago, I loved them but they where full price and I couldn't part with that much money. Roll on a few months and I found the saved post and now I am the very happy owner of this amazing pair of boots. They where on sale at £70 down from £105.

Dr Martens | Pascal Boots Mirror Shift Suede

The classic 1460 8 eyelet style, made from a super soft lilac suede upper with the metallic fish scale pattern on top. All of the classic yellow stitching has been replaced by black. The shimmery colour transition from pink, yellow to green is so pretty and mega eye catching. I can't wait to get loads of wear out of these, I need to think of good ways to incorporate them into my wardrobe, I'm definitely going to stand out in a crowd.

Primark Wishlist

Hi, I was having a general look on the Primark website to see if there where any good buys I should keep a look out for and found the most amazing looking bikini set.

Bikini Top - £6.00 | Bikini Bottoms - £5.00 | Pewter Sandals - £12 | Sheer Kimono - £8.00

I doubt I will find it in store and if I do it would fit but I really like this bikini, it's something a little bit more interestingly tailored than anything else I own. As well as the bikini set there was this pair of pewter strapped sandals, anything pewter/silver is a winner with me and would brighten up an all black outfit. I also saw this sheer black kimono which I think would totally finish off this beach look.

Christening Outfit

Last Sunday was the christening of my cousins little girl. As we where going to church I wanted to dress appropriately. As luck would have it Dorothy Perkins emailed me advertising their sale and on the email was the perfect dress. At only £11 it was a total bargain, I had to size up as Dorothy Perkins dresses never seem to give enough room for a larger bust, so it's a little lose at the waist but looks fine. It's a textured fabric which hides a multitude of sins and the pattern is really pretty and perfect for spring. The length comes to just below my knees, I never leave home without tights but with the length of this I felt more than comfortable in a pair of nude tights. I wore the dress with a pair of silver flats which I got in the Topshop sale a while ago and a white cotton kimono also from the Dorothy Perkins Sale.

I know I'm going to get a lot of wear out of this dress, it's the perfect spring dress as the fabric is still thick enough to create warmth and the sleeves mean you don't have to wear a cover up until it get cooler. I normally buy shorter dresses as I feel they compliment my short figure but I feel really glamorous in this dress in comparison.

Spring Capsule Wardrobe | H&M

With Spring around the corner I decided to look into the concept of a capsule wardrobe. I'm a bit of a shop-alcoholic, Primark is my down fall, but I figured this would be a good way to stop unnecessary purchases and maybe show me a few gaps in my current spring clothes.

The idea is to pick a number of items around the 35 piece mark and style them multiple ways to create a capsule wardrobe. Keeping a colour scheme seems to be key, using a mixture of neutral colours that work well together. As my wardrobe is mainly black/grey I figured this was the best place to start.

I have used H&M for the entire capsule wardrobe as I might do some for a few different high street stores and compare trends and budgets. I have kept the colour scheme very neutral in order to make the pieces as versatile as possible. My selection contains 35 items and comes to a grand total of £483.65 (If my calculations are correct). All the piece I have chosen can be worn all year round but the hints of pale pink in some items is my attempt at the spring trend with the pop of pastel colour.

I have tried to select as many similar items to ones I already own to illustrate to myself that I have more than enough clothes. I feel that I need to maybe buy a few key pieces and I will be ready for the spring season. This was a fun way to see all the different varieties of clothing items together to inspire me to try new ways of mixing the items I already own to create some new outfit ideas.

H&M Wish List | Alternative Grunge

I'm forever looking at H&M's website, I'm a little bit addicted but their prices really can't be beaten (apart from Primark) for the quality of the goods. I recently spied a nice selection of items from the trusty divided range and thought I'd share a outfit I would like to purchase.

Cut Out Knee Jeans - £24.99 | Marl Grey T-shirt - £9.99 

Ripped Jumper - £14.99 | Trainers - £19.99

I've picked these items as I always seem to dress slightly grunge/alternative without trying, so this is a lighter take on my style which is more spring appropriate. I really want to get a pair of ripped jeans as they are the seasons must have item. I really like the colour I think true white can be a bit bold and you have to be brave. These are a great alternative, just having that slight grey wash makes then a little more subtle. I really want the shoes because I'm in need of a new pair of slip on trainers as my pair from Primark are finally dying (can't complain I've worn them to death, so comfy). Unfortunately they are currently out of stock in my size but I'm hoping they get some more stock. I've got a thing for layering long T-shirts and cropped jumper at the moment, I think the unraveled finish on the jumper is quite grunge and the colour is different from what I'd normally buy (I'm trying to work more neutral colours into my wardrobe rather than black and grey). Everything comes to just under £70 which for a whole outfit is pretty good.

H&M | Sale Finds

I failed at the January sales this year. I haven't had the time to go to Leeds to check out the shops and the smaller stores in my local town don't have the variety to hold the sale gems. As for online sales everything worth having was long gone. So the other day I decided to check out my favorite store's website as they had free delivery on offer and I picked up some nice basics from the sale.

Full Price £60.96 – Sales Price £27.00. I love a sale, look at the price difference.

The jumper is super soft with an interesting knit. I love the colour, it will fit right into my wardrobe. I had to get it a size up from what I'd normally get, due to stock, but its the perfect length to wear with leggings (which I always have a problem pairing with a top).

I forgot I'd even ordered the boots, H&M's shipping ain't the fastest, but they where worth the wait.
When I opened the parcel I didn't regret my purchase as they are awesome. A mixture of snake skin patterned suede and black leather look straps with black buckles. They have just enough of a heel for extra height without losing comfort.

The T-shirt what can I say, it's a nice basic. It's very boxy and almost bat winged with a ribbed texture, I plan to wear it tucked into skater skirts.

And lastly the flower headband, I saw this at full price and have been lusting over it and waiting for it to hit the sales, it's pretty meets Gothic, a winner with me.

H&M Wish List

Hi, I figured for my first post why not a wishlist from one of my favorite stores. I have loved H&M ever since my first shopping trip to Leeds, it has been my go to retailer for my fashion fix for years. As a teenager I preferred to dress quite alternatively, H&M's divided section has always had something that finds it's way out of the store with me and their basics are always reasonable priced.

So here is the selection of items that I am current resisting the temptation to buy. I already own the T-shirt, one of my purchases from my last shopping trip. It's a really interesting print and says 'Deserted Universe', I love the marble tie-dye pattern. The T-shirt is the inspiration for this wishlist as I try and plan an outfit featuring it.

The first item I picked are these black ripped jeans. I don't own a pair of black jeans after my last pair faded and where never replaced. I'm liking the ripped knee style but I'm not sure if I'll like it on me. I only tend buy jeans for H&M because they last for ever and are very well priced.

The boots are awesome but I currently own way too many shoes. I really like the chunky style and the gunmetal hardware looks so much nicer than the harsh contrast that silver can have. I would definitely get a lot of wear out of these so maybe I can cope with one more pair.

The outfit needed a pop of colour so I added the Burgundy cardigan. I currently have about five of these cardigans but not one in this colour, so tempted. To finish off the outfit I added a burgundy beanie hat to continue the colour of the cardigan and some silver stack-able rings.

What do you think? Not a bad price for a whole outfit.
