Straighteners | Remington Shine Therapy Set

Hi, My straighteners broke the other day and then I had a mad rush to research for a replacement. My broken ones where Remington and they have never let me down, until I broke the wire while transporting them from A to B. After many hours of looking in general for deals and recommended sets I opted to stay with Remington. The main reason was while researching they where the only brand I could find that state their lowest heat setting. I found this Shine Therapy set including a pair of straighteners and two brushes on offer at better than half price.

The set includes a round brush for volume/soft curls and a paddle brush for straight styling, the brushes are available to buy separately. Both brushes are infused with micro conditioners.

Listed features of Remington Shine Therapy Straighteners
  • 15 Second heat up
  • 9 Temperatures 150°C-230°C
  • Digital display
  • Floating plates for even pressure
  • 60 Minuet auto shut off
  • Plate lock for storage
  • Temperature lock
  • Heat resistant pouch
  • Micro conditioner infused plates

Other features I like
  • Curved shape - curls
  • Long wire - flexible
  • Light up display

I think they might take a little bit of getting use too, but I'm sure once I have forgotten the feel of my old straighteners these will be just fine. They seem to have all the normal features of a good pair of straighteners with the added bonus of a back-lit digital display. I don't think they would be worth the full price tag but at £40 they are a bargain. They glide through my hair and straighten it with ease at the lowest heat setting of a mere 150°C.

The whole set is sold around the idea of creating shinier hair, all three products are infused with micro conditioners, time will tell if this makes a difference. I think overall for the discounted price this is a really nice starter set for younger teens who are just getting into the idea of hair straightening. They have plenty of safety features and the super low heat of 150°C should stop major heat damage to the hair.

Which straighteners do you use?

Film Review | Mad Max Fury Road

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that you have to see this film. I was a little bit skeptical as to how a car chase in the dessert could be entertaining, how wrong could I have been. The imagery is mind blowing, the characters are believable and you can really connect/hate them. The subject matter is thought provoking. I loved every minuet of it, I didn't have a second of the film where my attention was not firmly grabbed. A must see film, if you don't get time to see it on the big screen add it too your to watch list. I haven't seen the previous Mad Max films which proves that you don't have to to get this story. I particularly liked the part played by Nicholas Hoult, who I was drawn too during film because I couldn't work out who he was. It's a few weeks since I saw the film now and when I remember it I want to watch it all over again.

Freebie #1 | L'Occitane a little sunshine from provence

Hi, I've got a freebie I want to share with you today. The other day I got an email which instantly had my attention, it was an invitation to try some L'Occitane products totally free. I filled out the required details, got an email voucher and went and collected my little box of treats from L'Occitane, you can claim one by applying here, the offer is on until May 31st or while stocks last. The only catch is you have to pick it up from a boutique store, department stores are not included. This is kind of a post about how you don't have to wait around for people to sent you samples, you can look for them yourself and sometimes like this one they are really good.

On arrival to the store we where welcomed and offered a cup of liquorish tea to drink while we browsed. The free samples came beautifully packaged in a little box which contained 5 miniature products, a £10 off voucher when you spend £25, a lavender planting paper and information on the history of Provence. The free sample was lovingly packaged up in a store bag with tissue paper and a spritz of perfume, even though it was a free sample we still got the full L'Occitane customer service.

Miniature Sample Contents:

I believe that the hand creams are different in every box based on stock levels in store. This is one of the best freebies I have got to date and I can't wait to try them out. They are the perfect size for keeping for travel essentials. I've already tried the hand cream and would highly recommend it.

Lush Review | Brightside Bubble Bar

Hi, today I wanted to talk about my favourite Lush product the Brightside bubble bar. This is my go too product if I need a Lush fix. At £4.75 its not the cheapest product in Lush but it can easily be used in four baths, that's less than £1.20 per bath, cheaper than most of the one use bath bombs. I would actually recommend only using a quarter of this product, the bath water is such a bright orange and the essential oil payoff is more than enough, but if you like a really bubbly bath you might want to use more.

Lush Brightside Bubble Bar Review

Lush Brightside Bubble Bar - £4.95

"When you’re chewing on life’s gristle, don’t grumble, give a whistle! Hop in the bath with one of these uplifting bubble bars, Sicilian mandarin, bergamot and tangerine essential oils to help you look on the bright side of life! Its jazzy bright colours will create magnificent orange bath water, and the sunny citrus fragrance is sure to leave you jolly and refreshed." - Lush

I love this product so much because of the colour vibrancy and the fresh citrus scent is a real pick me up. Who doesn't love a bubble bath. After soaking in a Brightside bath my skin always feels so soft and because this product doesn't contain any glitter its not super messy to clean up after. To use Brightside simply break off a quarter of the product and crumble under a running tap.

What's your favourite Lush product?

New Dr Martens | Mermaid Feet

Hi, lets all take a second to admire this wonderful creation by Dr Martens. These are probably a love/hate item, but still you can't deny they are something else. I have many pairs of Dr Martens boots but this pair is by far the most elaborate pair I own, I'm 100% in love with them. I have Peaches at Stylepeaches to thank for these beauties. She posted an ootd featuring them a while ago, I loved them but they where full price and I couldn't part with that much money. Roll on a few months and I found the saved post and now I am the very happy owner of this amazing pair of boots. They where on sale at £70 down from £105.

Dr Martens | Pascal Boots Mirror Shift Suede

The classic 1460 8 eyelet style, made from a super soft lilac suede upper with the metallic fish scale pattern on top. All of the classic yellow stitching has been replaced by black. The shimmery colour transition from pink, yellow to green is so pretty and mega eye catching. I can't wait to get loads of wear out of these, I need to think of good ways to incorporate them into my wardrobe, I'm definitely going to stand out in a crowd.

What do you think?
